Practice expressing your love for other people. We all have abundance of love within us. So why keep it to oneself. Express it to others. Remember life is short, so express as much as you can. It will surely make you happy. Just helping your friend is also expressing the love. Just practice it and you will feel happy.
Surround Yourself With Positive People
Even if you are the happiest person, if you have negative minded friends, they are going to bring you down. They will try to suck the energy out of you. If you have such friends, eliminate these friendships.
It’s better to be alone than surrounded by negative influences, who don’t add any value to your life. Make the choice to surround yourself with happy & uplifting people. If you are a kind of friend who motivate others, you will expect the same from your friends.
It is fair only if that feeling is mutual. If you don’t have positive friends in your life, you have to challenge yourself to make positive friends. Go out. Meet new people. Get their contact number and stay in touch with like minded people who you can vouch for your happy life.
Read Books & Don’t Watch The News
Read self-help books like positive thinking, etc. Read anything that makes you happy. Hear spiritual speech on the internet. This will surely make you feel better. Don’t just read or know about happiness. Start practicing it. The more you practice it, the more your life will be enhanced.
Some people say it’s ignorant if you don’t watch the news. But if something important you must know, you will get to know in this digital world, especially if you are connected on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp etc.,. News is somehow the never ending feed of negativity. So why do you want to watch them and feel miserable?
Meditation and Reflection
Meditation is the one thing that makes the biggest difference in your life. It makes you feel motivated, energetic and clears your mind from negative thoughts. It will also help you to be more productive. There are many types of meditation like vipassana meditation, OM meditation and chakra meditation. Meditation is now scientifically proven to heal & enlighten human beings.
Mediation is not easy . It is hard work. But once you practice daily, you can be free from stress, anxiety, fear and misery. There is no magic pill available to make you happy. To be happy, you have to turn inward and work upon yourself.
Reflection have a five minute journal. Its like a book that has a specific questions and you have to answer those questions everyday. It helps you to focus on the positive. Take 2 and half minutes in the morning, as soon as you wake up and 2 and half in the night, just before going to bed. Questions like “ what am I grateful for”?, are asked in the journal. It will help you to keep the mind clear and you will feel happy.
Search For Happiness Inside You
Happiness and unhappiness are the states of mind. And therefore the real cause cannot be found outside the mind. So if we have a peaceful state of mind we will be happy regardless of the people and circumstances. If our mind is not happy then even if we have good circumstances we will find it impossible to be happy. So in other words, it is not what is happening that is making us happy or unhappy; it is how we are responding to those things that determines whether a person is happy or unhappy.
How are we going to do this? We can all understand this intellectually. How do we actually cultivate the stable peace of mind that we can rely upon regardless of the external situations? Mindfulness is being present to the present. Most of the time our mind is stuck somewhere else. It is somewhere in the past or in the future.
If you stay present, you are free from the suffering. I feel the only thing that really matters is being happy. Happiness is a choice that one should make. It is simply an attitude. We can either choose to be happy and try to smile through all our difficult times or we can choose to whine & be miserable. Do not ever give the control of how you feel to someone else.
Don’t Seek Happiness From Others
Do not allow anyone to remote control you. Control your television by remote. Control your cars by remote. Don’t allow anyone to control your emotions. When you ask most people what you want in life .most people response is happiness. Happiness shouldn’t be pursued. It is an attitude towards life. Life is meant to be lived joyously. It truly is. if you are living a life that is not joyous and happy something is wrong and you need to make a change. We are here on this planet for a finite amount of time. Make it a good one.
To know yourself is the greatest gift you can give yourself. Now the truth is not everybody is always happy. People experience all kinds of emotions. Happiness is truly a choice of one’s attitude. So every day when you wake up make a choice is I going to be happy today? Or am I going to be miserable today? Negative pattern thinking circles will happen. At that time catch yourself and shift yourself instead of feeling miserable. In order to be a happy person concentrate on what you love to do. Follow that.
Get out of your comfort zone and chase your dreams. Maybe you want to be a teacher or hair stylist. Who is the happiest person in the world? Santa Claus. Here is a guy who comes laughing giving gifts to everyone. If one wants to live life. One thing that is necessary within you, there should be a constant sense of peacefulness and joyfulness. If you don’t feel steadily peaceful and joyful you will do compulsive activity of trying to be happy. If a man become like this, that his peace or joy is not dependent on anybody he will become joyful. As long as the fear of suffering is within you, you will never walk your life with full stride. It will always be half a step.
Most human beings crippled themselves simply because of the fear of suffering. What will happen to me? It is always a question. Whatever happens this is how I will be. If this assurance comes to you, only now you will want to scale the peaks of life. If it happens, makes no difference to you. If it doesn’t happen, makes no difference to you. Because your way of being is not determined by what is around you. If you bring this one aspect to you, there is no fear of suffering.
When You Are Joyful..
When does your body and brain works at his best? Does it work at its best when you are joyful or happy or when you are pushed to the wall. Human potential is at its best only when there is a certain level of pleasantness within the human being. If you become pleasant, you will naturally do your best to everything around you. Life is a certain amount of time.
If you look at life from a psychological perspective, life is a certain amount of problems. People have variety of problems. Birth is a problem. Death is a problem and the in-between life has many problems. Everyday make an account. Am I being more joyful or less joyful? They are only two things. How joyful you are and how much joy do you give to people around you. This you can keep accounts. People are keeping accounts of their money as if they are going to carry it with them forever.
Real wealth of life is how joyful you are how wonderful your experience of life is. Joy is not a goal by itself. But it is necessary. If you don’t set this one ambience, then whatever you have is just going waste. You may have health that is going waste because there are more people on the world, who are healthy and miserable. Some are unhealthy and miserable. At least if you are unhealthy, you have an excuse for your misery. You are healthy and miserable. There is no excuse.
It is just not smart to be miserable. This is our time on this planet. What are we going to do? That’s the question. Are we going to make this a joyful planet or we are going to make this a miserable and horrible planet. This is our time. We are free to do either way.
Happiness Is a Choice
The choice is ours. If you have anger and hatred within you and you want to create a wonderful world. What happens is the consequence of that is a horrendous reality. How you are within yourself is more important. What intention you have is not important. Your inner nature is important. every action that human beings are doing in their life is knowingly or unknowingly is in pursuit of their well-being. And you know you feel well only when you are joyful.
You really feel well only when you are happy and joyful. In other words, every single action that human being perform is in pursuit of their happiness or joy. If they were joyful by their own nature, every action that you perform would become conscious instead of being compulsive. This is all you have to do to do for yourself. We always say if I get this I will be happy. If I get that I will be happy. This is not happiness. That is gratification. When you get what you want , you need something else.
It is not right that a person is claiming to be happy because everything is right in his life. He is happy because his attitude towards everything in life is right. When do you really feel well in your life? When do you truly feel well? When you are very happy you are well even if you are physically ill. You are still well; even if you are mentally diagnosed as ill. If you are happy right now, you are feeling well. So fundamentally well-being is a certain level of joyfulness. Depression means you are feeling low.
Happiness means your life energies are exuberant. There are many ways of describing happiness. But only those who are happy know what true happiness is. Everybody has been happy and tasted happiness. But the problem is they are not able to maintain it. Think in the last 24 hours how many moments of joy do you know.
When you are a child you were full of joy. Somebody has to make you unhappy. Now somebody has to make you happy. The whole situation got reversed. All this effort of life everything that you did education,, career, business, family whatever you did everything was in pursuit of happiness. Everything that humanity has done in this planet is in pursuit of happiness. In the last 100 years we have done too much on this planet with the use of science and technology. We have ripped off the planet. Today we have the comforts and conveniences that no other generation could ever imagine.
Are We The Happiest Generation?
No.. What royalty could not afford 100 years ago today average citizen have. We are definitely the most comfortable generation ever on this planet. But are we the most joyful generation?
No.. Science and technology has brought enormous amount of comfort and conveniences to our life.
Things that we could not imagine just 25 years ago are just a living reality now. But are we more joyful? No. what is the point of all comforts and conveniences when we are not even happy? If we are not even happy why we are ripping the planet .it is time to look at it.
We don’t know what great things you will do or not. We don’t know whether you will climb Mount Everest or not. We don’t know whether you will become richest man or woman in the world or not. But this one thing you must do to yourself. This one thing is 100% in your hands that you can live here as a joyful human being. This much is possible to every one of us.
Our abilities to fix the world around us subject to various realities. Something works and something doesn’t work because this involves too many forces. Sometimes it falls into place and sometimes it doesn’t. Only when you have no fear of suffering you will dare to walk your life in a full stride. Everything that you can do must happen in your life. If that has to happen, the fundamental ambiance that is needed is that you are a joyful human being by your own nature.
So choose to be happy.
